Тип урока: Урок развития навыков говорения по теме «Еда».

Технология, применяемая на уроке: Урок - проект.



Цель урока: Формирование коммуникативной компетенции учащихся.

Введение страноведческой информации по теме: «Рождественские блюда на праздничном столе англичан».

Образовательный аспект:

1. Актуализация лексико-грамматического материала по теме в различных видах учебной деятельности (чтение, говорение, орфографическое письмо).

2. Развитие навыков чтения и спонтанной речи.

Развивающий аспект:

1. Развитие языковых, индивидуальных и интеллектуальных способностей учащихся.

2. Развитие навыков и умений сравнения и сопоставления.

3. Развитие интереса к англоязычной культуре, умение увидеть различное и общее, объединяющее.

Воспитательный аспект:

1. Воспитание умение слышать собеседника, работать в команде.

2. Воспитание интереса в дальнейшем изучении культуры страны изучаемого языка.

Thank you and let me tell you what we are going to during our lesson. The theme is "Let's cook a special dish for Christmas". At the end of our lesson we'll summarize everything we'll learn about it. You will have different groups (3) and you'll make projects.

1. My family came from England. My grandparents made what they told us was an old English Christmas dinner. The main dish was called Beef Pudding. The dough was made with suet and flour and baking powder, you added enough water to make it stiff enough to roll out. Then divide the dough in half and roll out the two balls. You would then line a bowl with a moist linen cloth, line the bottom with one of the rolled out pieces, then fill with layers of beef brisket, salt and pepper each layer. Cover with the second rolled out dough and pinch the seam together. Cover with the cloth and boil in beef broth for 6 hours.

The dessert was called Butter well. The dough is made the same without the baking powder. This one you divide into 4 parts, making 2 larger. On one of the smaller pieces you put 1/2 cup of butter, 3/4 cup of raisins, 1/2 cup dark brown sugar, with the second smaller piece you seal everything in a ball, then with the two larger pieces you put another ball around the first with the seams alternating. I have a pan that is basically a double boiler, it only has steam holes around the rim, you put this in the pan and boil for 2 hours, when done and broke up to serve, it is the most delicious caramelized dessert I have ever had.

I want to continue my old family tradition, but I would like to know the origin of these dishes, and their real names if anyone knows. I want my children and my grandchildren to know some history.


2. Festivals and food have always lived comfortably side by side. So there's really no reason to be surprised at the multitude of traditional Christmas Foods that we enjoy during the festive season. And, of course, Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without chocolate. Celebrations, crowds and food have always gone together. And there are few celebrations that draw on traditional food as much as Christmas.

Similar traditions are followed all across the country. Some of them date back to the Middle Ages, while some are more recently Victorian.

We have traditional Christmas foods for every part of the Christmas celebrations.

Mince Pies, a sweet pastry crust filled with mincemeat are offered at tea time, carol concerts and Christmas parties all the way through the Christmas season.

Dainty canapés and the best of English cheeses are served at Christmas parties and family gatherings alike.

While Christmas cake and the world-famous Christmas pudding - flamed with cognac and served with cream and brandy butter - usually round off the festivities - supported by more mince pies and maybe a traditional сherry trifle, syllabub or chocolate Yule log.

3. Many of the traditional Christmas foods, such as mincemeat, Christmas cake and Christmas pudding are better for being made weeks in advance and being left to mature.

Fragrant with Christmas spices, studded with dried and candied fruit, and laced with alcohol ... these are truly festive foods that would have done a Medieval king's table proud.

So, what else is on the menu over the festive season?

For most families, recipes for Christmas dinner include roast turkey with all the trimmings - that's sprouts, roast potatoes, carrots, chipolata sausages wrapped in bacon, chestnuts, and bread sauce and cranberry sauce. This is followed by either Christmas pudding or a Christmas trifle and later tea, coffee and mince pies.

On Boxing Day, a baked ham could take centre stage, served cold with salads and pickles and Cumberland sauce. There could also be smoked salmon, or a large pie.

But away from the very traditional, there are many variations. Not everyone likes turkey. Goose and duck - very popular in the Middle Ages - are still the preferred choice in many families, as is fish. And the many Vegetarians in England are developing their own traditional dinners.

And all around the house there will be nibbles, and mince pies, and sweets and nuts and - of course - chocolate! Christmas would not be Christmas without chocolate.

And as for drinks... mulled wine and mulled cider go extremely well with mince pies and keep out the cold, while a claret cup would make a very good starter to the Christmas festivities.
