Christmas Poems

Christmas is ...

Christmas is sleighing:

Christmas is sharing:

Christmas is holly:

Christmas is caring.

Christmas is children who just can't go to sleep.

Christmas is memories, the kind you always keep.

Deck the hall and give a cheer

For all the things that Christmas is each year.

Christmas, merry Christmas,

When all your wishes come true.

Christmas is cards to warm you in the snow:

Christmas is bedtime where no one wants to go.

All the world is tinsel bright,

So glad to know that Christmas is tonight.

Christmas, merry Christmas,

When all your wishes come true,

Christmas, merry Christmas:

May all your wishes come true.

Love for little Children

It's our love for little children

That keeps Christmas all year long.

As we listen to their laughter,

We can make a Christmas song.

As we take their hands and lead them,

All the days throughout the year,

We can show them that we love them,

And keep their love quite near.

When Christmas Comes Each Year

It's the joy of children

The warmth of love

The many blessings

Beneath the star above

The many friends we know

The neighbors living near

That makes our lives so special

Whet Christmas comes each year.

Many Things

I Love Christmas for many things

Trees, candles, angel wings.

Stars in the heavens,

Snow covered hills,

Little toy trains,

Dolls in their frills.

I love Christmas, ribbons of gold,

Familiar carols, so very old.

Sweet candy canes, bright red sleds,

Little ones tucked snug in their beds.

I love Christmas, but most of all

I look forward to a neighbour's call.

A friendly chat, a cup of tea

Love in the home means Christmas to me.

Xmas

I've done many things for Christmas;

I've tied each present with bow,

But there's one other thing

I wanted to tell you,

How much I love you,

But I think you know.

C-h-r-i-s-t-m-a-s

When I was but a youngster, Christmas meant one thing,

That I'd be getting lots of toys that day.

I learnt a whole of different whet Mother sat me down.

And taught me to spell Christmas this way:

C - is for the Christ Child born upon this day,

H - is for the herald angels in the night.

R - means our Redeemer

I - means Israel;

S - is for the star that shone so bright

T -is for three wise men, they who travelled far.

M - is for manger where He lay.

A - is for all He stands for;

S - means shepherds came,

And that's why there's a Christmas Day.

I'll be Home for Christmas

I'll be home for Christmas;

You can plan on me.

Please hare snow and mistletoe

And presents on the tree.

Christmas Eve will find me

Where the love - light gleams.

I'll be home for Christmas

If only in my dreams.

Winter

Winter, winter,

When the snow is softly falling,

That's the time to squeeze,

when it starts to freeze.

In October and November and December,

just remember

Winter, winter

Whet your sweetheart comes a-calling,

By the fireside so bright,

you'll sit and tease her;

That's the time to squeeze her, when it's winter.

Dreams

Take your dreams this Christmas

And Decorate the tree.

Look up high

And once again

The glowing star you'll see.

Take your dreams

And carry them

Into the coming year.

Dreams are made of Hope and love

Whenever faith is near.

Chiming

I hear them ringing in the hills

And in the valley too.

Church bells chiming carols

Oh so old, but oh so new.

Telling of the Holy Birthday

Of a child born long ago.

Church bells chiming, chiming, chiming

All across the winter snow.

Faith, Joy and Love

If love is in the stocking,

And joy is on the tree,

If faith is in the glowing star,

Then friendship is the key

To blessings in the coming year,

With faith and joy and love quite near.

Toyland

Toyland, Toyland

Little girl and boy land,

While you dwell within it,

You are ever happy then.

Childhood's Toyland,

Mystic, merry Toyland!

Once you pass its borders,

You can ne'er return again.

Light a Christmas Candle

By J.K. Sincak

Light a Christmas candle,

Enjoy its warmth and flame;

Today is born the Prince of light,

To a darkened world He came.

Light a Christmas candle,

Sharing its warmth and flame

With those possessing less of love,

As the supreme gift He came.

Christmas Candle

By B. Moore

Shine, Christmas candle,

Glimmer and glow,

Sending your light

Through the soft-falling snow.

Shine, Christmas candle,

Reminding the earth

Of a long-ago star

And a long-ago birth.

Shine in remembrance

Of the night that He came,

Wringing a faith

Warm and bright as your flame.

Christmas Toy

By G. Burket

The house is hung with cedar boughs,

There's Christmas in the air,

The gifts are tied with tinsel bows

And hidden everywhere.

Our days are filled with happiness,

And all our hearts are merry.

We feel as gay and shining bright

As any holly berry.

Our dearest friends trip in and out

And greet the family.

A silver star is gleaming on

The tip-top of the tree.

When blessed Christmastide is here,

Our lives reflect its glow,

As joy of heaven kindles joy

Upon the earth below.

Christmas gifts

By G. Holman

The Christmas gifts that mean the most,

The ones that happiness brings,

Are something of yourself...

The best are made of simple things.

The melody of Christmas carols sung

To cheer someone you hold dear;

A sincere message that you write

That warms the heart throughout the year.

Kind thoughts and generosity

For those less fortunate than you;

Fun and laughter go everywhere

And brotherhood and love will, too.

We seek the best in everyone,

Give courage to one in need;

We offer faith when future's dark

And pleas for help we promptly heed

For seasons come and seasons go,

The months and days hurry past,

But we can give the thoughtful things...

The simple things that last and last!
