Тема «Being happy in the country and in the city»

Цель: Совершенствовать навыки устной речи, чтения, письма и аудирования

Задачи урока:

  1. Развивать произносительно-интонационные навыки.

  2. Актуализировать лексико-грамматические навыки по теме: «Степени сравнения прилагательных».

  3. Совершенствовать навыки диалогической и монологической речи.

  4. Формировать навыки аудирования.

  5. Развивать познавательный интерес учащихся, повышать мотивацию к обучению.

Оборудование: учебник Биболетовой М.З. (4 класс), магнитофон, интерактивная доска.

Ход урока

I. Warming up period

Teacher: Good morning, children. I`m very glad to see you. How are you? How are your parents? What date is it today? Who is away?

Pupils: Good morning, good morning, good morning to you. Good morning, dear teacher. We are glad to see you. (Pupils are answering the questions)

II. Phonetic exercise

Teacher: To start our lesson and to make our tongues at work, let`s listen to the poem "The weather". You will recite it after the speaker.

Whether the weather be fine,
Or whether the weather be not,
Whether the weather be cold,
Or whether the weather be hot
We`ll whether the weather
Whatever the weather
Whether we like it or not

(Pupils are listening to the tape and repeating the poem)

Teacher: Good of you. What adjectives can we see in this poem? Name them. What is the weather like in our city? How can we describe it?

Pupil 3: The weather is cold and snowy today.

Pupil 4: The temperature is 12 degrees below zero.

Teacher: It`s frosty today, isn`t it?

Pupil 5: Yes, it is. It`s very frosty outside.

III. The topic presentation and grammar practice

Teacher: Today we`ll revise the degrees of comparison and compare different objects and animals. We`ll practice our skills in reading, writing and speaking. Let's see what adjectives and degrees of comparison we have (slides 1, 2). Look at the table and form the degrees (slides 3, 4 и 5). (Pupils are writing on the board)

IV. Dialogue practice.

Teacher: Now I want you to make a dialogue using exercise 25 at page 42, but first name the exceptions. (Slide 6)

Pupil 1: What is the best month for you?

Pupil 2: The best month for me is June.

Pupil 3: What is the worst weather for you?

Pupil 4: The worst weather for me is windy and cold weather (etc.)

V. Home task control.

Teacher: So it`s time to check your home task. Will you open your books and do exercise 26 at page 42. Read the text and say "Who becomes happy in the town?" (The children are reading and translating the text).

Teacher: Well done, pupils. Can you find the adjectives in this text and name them?

Pupil 1: Long and small.

Pupil 2: Tall and wide.

Pupil 3: Happy.

Pupil 4: Sad and unhappy. (etc.)

VI. Writing practice.

Teacher: I want you to look at the board again. Fill in the table in written form and exchange works with your partners. Put marks then. (The right variant appears on the board and the pupils check it. (slide 7)

VII. Speaking practice.

Teacher: Do you love animals? I'm sure you do. Look at the board and compare them looking at these pictures. (slide 8-10)

Pupil5: The sun is stronger than the wind.

Pupil3: Tim is taller than Tom.

Pupil 1: The bird in the tree is happier, than the bird in the cage.

Pupil 2: The dog in the house is happier, than the dog in the yard. (etc).

VIII. Relaxation period

Teacher: Let's finish our lesson with a funny song "If you are happy" (pupils are singing a song). (slide 11)

IX. Home task presentation.

Teachers: I enjoyed working with you. So your marks are… Put down your home task. It`s ex.29, page 44.
