по теме «The fastest-the cleverest»

Тип урока: урок закрепления знаний, урок-игра

Цель урока: закрепление способов образования степеней прилагательных

Задачи:

  • Закрепить грамматические навыки образования степеней сравнения прилагательных

  • Развить навыки говорения, аудирования, устной и письменной речи

  • Стимулировать желание учащихся общаться и высказывать свои мысли на английском языке

Оборудование: интерактивная доска, компьютер, карточки с заданиями и словами

Ход урока

I Организационный момент.

1. Приветствие (слайд 1)

Teacher: Hello, boys and girls!

Pupils:

Hello, hello!

Hello to you!

Hello, hello!

We are glad to see you!

T.: Thank you. I am glad to see you too. Sit down, please.

II. Объявление темы и целей урока.

T.: Let's start our lesson. But first of all, look at the board. You can see different fruits. The apple is big. The melon is bigger and the watermelon is the biggerst. So, according to these pictures, can you name the topic of our lesson. (слайд 1)

T.: yes, you are right. Today we'll speak about adjectives and especially about degrees of comparison. (слайд 2). We are going to:

  • revise degrees of comparison of adjectives

  • revise different adjectives

  • do some exercises on this topic

  • work in groups

  • get prizes (слайд 3).

Do you like to play games? Of course you do. Today you will play. Today we will have a game "The fastest, the cleverest". And at the end of the lesson the fastest and the cleverest team will get special prizes and sweets.

There will be 2 teams. The first team is called «Smart» and the second is «Bright».

III. Повторение изученного материала. (слайды 4-7)

T.: to begin with, look at the board and let's revise the formation of degrees of comparison.

Сравнительная степень (The Comparative Degree) указывает на наличие большей степени качества у одного предмета сравнительно с другим предметом, обладающим тем же качеством. При сравнении часто употребляется союз than - чем.

Превосходная степень (The Superlative Degree) указывает на высшую степень качества у того или иного предмета среди всех других однородных предметов, обладающих тем же качеством.

T.: but there are some peculiar features (слайды 8-10).

В односложных прилагательных, оканчивающихся на одну согласную, стоящую после краткой гласной, для сохранения краткости чтения этой гласной согласная перед суффиксами -ег, -est удваивается.

В прилагательных, оканчивающихся на -у, стоящую после согласной, перед суффиксами -er, -est -у меняется на i.

Непроизносимая немая "е" опускается и прибавляется -er или -est.

IV. Основная часть. Отработка изученного материала.

T.: And so, children, we've revised the rules and now let's begin our competition.

Task 1

T.: Your task is to translate the adjectives from Russian into English. I'll say these words in russian one by one. You are to give the English equivalent. You should raise your hands. The person who raises his hand faster will bring one score for his team. I'll give you one star for each score.

Старый, старше, самый старый, самый старший, самый длинный, короче, счастливый, счастливее, самый счастливый, длиннее, теплее, меньше, короче, самый короткий.

Task 2

T.: the second task is to form the comparative and the superlative degrees of comparison. Again raise your hands and get scores.

Hot, long, short, clever, silly, great, fat, nice, warm, cold, small, tall, high, weak, strong, heavy, dry, clean, dirty, wide, deep.

Task 3

T.: the next task is very interesting. You can see lists of paper and you must colour. I'll read you sentences and you must draw them. Be attentive.

На доске висят листы -раскраски, правильно раскрасить нужно, используя цветные фломастеры.

1. The red apple is bigger than blue.

2. The yellow flower is smaller than pink.

3. The green train is longer than red.

4. Peter is taller than Kate.

5. The blue house is bigger than orange.

T.: Good of you. Let's count the scores. The winner is….. (name of the team), but it's not the end of the lesson. Go on.

Task 4

T.: You can see lists with task on your desks. You have to complete the sentences. Then we'll check it. (слайд 11)

  • This shirt is …, but that shirt is … (nice)

  • This house is …, but that house is … (big)

  • This house is …, but that house is … (big)

  • This girl is …, but that girl is … (tall)

  • This puppy is …, but that puppy is … (small)



  • This shirt is nice, but that shirt is nicer.

  • This house is big, but that house is bigger.

  • This milk is hot, but that milk is hotter.

  • This girl is tall, but that girl is taller.

  • This puppy is small, but that puppy is smaller.

T.: a good job. Now let's do some warming up and then we'll go on.

V. Разминка

Stand up!

VI. Отработка лексико-грамматического материала.

Task 5

T.: Now you are going to listen to the text. Your task is to write down all the adjectives which you'll hear. You'll get 1 score for each adjective. So, be very attentive. (команды пишут все прилагательные на листе, затем эти листы вывешиваются на доску, и подсчитываются результаты) (слайд 12)

Mike is 10. He lives in London. He is a kind boy. Mike lives in a big house near the small lake. He can ride a bike. He is the fastest boy in his class. He has a sister Kate. She is small. Kate has a nice doll. They have a dog. It is very clever. They like playing together.

Task 6

T.: so the next task is to open the brackets using the superlative degree of comparison. Each team will read the sentence one by one. If it won't make mistakes it'll get one score for every sentence. So look at the screen and start. (слайд 13)

  • 1) This house is … house in our town. (big)
    2) This classroom is … classroom in my school. (small)
    3) This book is … book in this library. (old)
    4) Peter is … boy in her class. (short)
    5) Ann is … girl in my class. (fast)

1) This house is the biggest house in our town.


2) This classroom is the smallest classroom in my school.


3) This book is the oldest book in this library.


4) Peter is the shortest boy in her class.


5) Ann is the fastest girl in their class.

Task 7

T.: the next task. The member of each team should to come to me and take the card with the sentence. You must find mistake. You can get 1 score for every correct sentence. (учащиеся подходят к учителю и тянут карточки с неправильными предложения, остальные видят их на слайде. Ученик должен немного подумать и прочитать предложения правильно) (слайд 14)


1. She is the faster. (fastest)

2. He is smaller in the class. (the smallest)

3.Tom is the biggest than Peter. (bigger)

4. Dogs are the cleverer animals. (cleverest)

5. Kate's hair is the shortest than Lora's. (shorter)

6. I am the taller in this room. (tallest)

Task 8

T.: And the last task. You have to do the crossword and find as many adjectives as you can. You'll get 1 score for each word. You have 5 minutes to do this task.

VII. Выявление победителя.

T.: So it's high time to count the stars and find out the winner. So the winner is …..

The members of this team ate awarded with medals and are entitled «The fastest-the cleverest». Let's congratulate the winners! Everybody gets sweet present.

VIII. Подведение итогов. Рефлексия.

T: Now raise your right hand, if you can say that you know degrees of comparison and can do any task. Raise your left hand, if you can say that you know degrees of comparison but you can't do any task.

Now answer please how did you work at our lesson? If your work was very good, raise the cards with the sun, if your work was good, raise the cards with the sun and the cloud, if your work wasn't good, raise the cards with the cloud.

IX. Домашнее задание.

T.: Now open your diaries and write down your home task. Your homework is to make up 7 sentences using degrees of comparison.

I was pleased with your work today. Thank you for your work today. The lesson is over, you may be free.Goodbye.
