Методическая записка

Потребности общества в области подготовки специалистов нового типа в современных условиях отражены в квалификационной характеристике выпускника образовательной организации среднего профессионального образования.

Основной целью обучения студентов иностранному языку в образовательной организации среднего профессионального образования является достижение ими практического владения этим языком, что предполагает формирование умения самостоятельно читать литературу с целью извлечения информации из иноязычных источников.

При обучении иностранному языку, чтение рассматривается, как самостоятельный вид речевой деятельности занимает ведущие место по своей важности и доступности.

Оно выполняет следующие функции:

1. Прививает навыки самостоятельной работы.

2. Текст часто выступает основой для письма, говорения и аудирования.

3. Имеет воспитательные цели (нравственность, мировоззрение, ценности).

4. Расширяет кругозор.

5. Прививает любовь к книге.

Понимание иностранного текста достигается при осуществлении двух видов чтения:

• Изучающее чтение - внимательное вчитывание в тест для полного понимания содержания и запоминания содержащейся информации для ее дальнейшего использования. При чтении с полным пониманием содержание аутентичного текста необходимо понимать как главную, так и второстепенную информацию, используя все возможные средства раскрытия значения незнакомых языковых явлений. Изучающее чтение предполагает умение самостоятельно проводить лексико-грамматический анализ, используя знание специальных предметов. Итогом изучающего чтения является точный перевод текста на родной язык.

• Ознакомительное чтение - извлечение основной информации, при этом делается ставка на воссоздающее воображение читателя, благодаря которому частично восполняется смысл текста. При чтении с пониманием основного содержания студент должен уметь определять тему и выделять основную мысль письменного сообщения, отделять главные факты от второстепенных, опуская детали.

Пособие включает в себя 3 текста и 2 иллюстрации с новыми словами по основным разделам календарно-тематического плана, рассчитанного на VII семестр.

Тексты пособия взяты, в основном, из оригинальной английской научно-популярной литературы. Тексты сокращены и адаптированы. К каждому тексту дается минимум слов, подлежащих активному усвоению. Студентам предлагается выполнить задания и ответить на вопросы после текстов. Тексты для чтения могут быть использованы как для работы в аудитории под руководством преподавателя, так и для внеаудиторного чтения.

The problem of choosing the future profession has always been very important. The profession a person chooses in many ways determines his future life. Every generation in this or that way comes across it. It is one of the most important decisions in life.

There are several factors that influence the decision of young people to make their choice. They concern material and spiritual aspects of the future profession. It is generally believed that professions should be both prestigious and interesting. Everybody wants to benefit from the social privileges provided by the profession. At the same time other factors are important. Much depends on the inclinations and interests of the person. Although it is wonderful when one's hobby becomes one's profession. Another important factor is social environment. The profession of the parents often in this or that way influence the future profession of their children. Today we have dynasties of physicians, historians, lawyers, economists, pilots and military officers.

It is impossible to forget about the material aspect of the future profession. It indicates the level of the society's values. Today all professions can be classified as prestigious and not prestigious. But it is better not to choose that job where you may get a lot of money. The future profession should be interesting and meet the demands of the person.

I like cars so I have chosen to be a motor mechanic in my future life. A motor with an electrical or mechanical problem is brought to motor mechanics; they use electronic equipment to locate the problem. Mechanics take a car for a test drive to confirm the problems. The fault and the type of vehicle determine the method to repair the vehicle.

The vehicle is raised by means of a hydraulic jack, so that access is gained to the underside of the vehicle. The parts that cause the problems are removed and opened. Mechanics adjust brakes, replace shock absorbers. With services they replace oil, oil filters and air filters. They also adjust headlights, mirrors and windscreen wipers.

What kind of personality do I need to be? Mechanical aptitude is important. Motor mechanic should be able to work skillfully with their hands. They need physical strength. And, of course, motor mechanics should know everything about cars; know their parts and how to repair them.

The demand for qualified motor mechanics increases as motor-manufacturing increase. All cars need servicing and motor mechanics are needed for this. Potential employers are large motor manufacturers and smaller workshops. If persons have the necessary experience and some money they can start their own motor mechanic workshops.

Because motor mechanics work with heavy equipment and chemicals, they face a number of safety hazards every time they go to work. Shop owners should train mechanics on how to avoid electrocution, slips and falls, chemical burns, back injuries, and other types of accidents. These tips can improve the safety of motor mechanics and help them avoid accidents.

Vehicle maintenance procedures involve working with slippery fluids that can pour on the garage floor and increase the risk of accidents. Mechanics should clean up spills immediately not to slip and fall. Leaving chemicals on the floor also increases the risk of respiratory irritation and other problems. Anyone who works in a garage should wear boots with non-slip soles. These boots will prevent slip-and-fall accidents and protect feet if something falls on them.

In addition to their work with chemicals, mechanics should wear gloves to prevent chemical burns, chemical irritation, heat burns and other types of injuries and be attentive not to get poisoned.

Mechanics have an increased risk of eye injury because they do with chemicals and small auto parts. They should always wear eye safety equipment when working with chemicals, welding, or performing any work that poses a risk of injury.

Motor workers are also at risk of electrocution because they use to repair the electrical tools in cars and trucks. It is important that mechanics cut off the power supply to any electrical component while it is being repaired.

Mechanics have to lift heavy auto parts and other heavy items. Using proper lifting techniques is extremely important, as lifting properly can prevent back injuries and other types of accidents. Workers should bend their knees while lifting and use the power of their legs to pick up objects.

Proper training is one of the best ways to prevent accidents and injuries in auto shops. Every shop should have a formal safety training program that every employee must complete. The safety program should include information on wearing personal protective equipment, identifying workplace safety hazards, reducing the risk of electrocution, working with chemicals.
