Theme of the lesson: What do you eat for breakfast?

The aim of the lesson:

- Educational - to give information about food; introduce new words to the pupils; enlarge pupils knowledge on the theme

- Developmental - to develop pupils' speaking skills, writing and listening skills

- Pedagogical - to increase students interest to English

The type of the lesson: Combined lessons.

Methods of the lesson: illustrative, practical, oral, work with the book.

Materials: poem, pictures, cards, books



The lesson


I. Warming - up

1. Greeting

- Hello, dear boys and girls. I`m very glad to see you again.

Sit down please.

- Today we will speak about … 6 13 13 4 (Food). Guess the words!

2. Speech warming-up.

  • Answer the questions.

- Who is absent today?
- What date is it today?
- What day is it today?

3. Phonetic warming-up.

  • Reading of the teacher.

  • Translation.

  • Name all the words with the sound.

  • Reading in chorus of the words with the sound.

  • Reading of the whole phonetic warming-up with the teacher.

  • Reading of the pupils

Breakfast in the morning.

Dinner in the day.

Tea comes after dinner

Then comes time to play

Supper in the evening.

When the sky is red.

Then the days over

And we go to bed!

II. The main part of the lesson.

1. Checking the home-task

  • ex. 9 p. 148 - learn the dialogue

  • How many words can you find in this word-snake? What are they?

2. Introduction of the new lexis:

4. Speaking

Children, let`s make a breakfast! What do we need? We need a food! Where can I buy the food? - You can buy the food in the shop.

Before let`s make shopping list:
1st group - fruit salad
2nd group - porridge with jam
3rd group - toast with vegetables and fresh juice

- Let`s go to the shop to buy the food.


Make the dialogue: "In the shop"
- Hello! What would you like to buy?
- Hello! I would like to buy …. - Here you are.
- Thanks'! Good bye!

5. Writing

- Is your breakfast healthy or not healthy? Let`s write essay.
