«School»

Цели урока:

  • знакомство с новым лексическим материалом по теме;

  • развитие самостоятельности, творческих способностей, быстроты мышления;

  • воспитание уважения к традициям школы, учителям;

  • развитие речевых умений по теме (говорить, переводить, писать);

  • сопутствующая задача - скрытый контроль сформированности речевых умений.

Языковой материал: лексический материал по теме.

Оснащение урока: учебное пособие В.Н.Богородицкая, Л.В.Хрусталева «Учебник английского языка» для 8 класса школ с углубленным изучением английского языка, Москва, «Версия», 2003; аудиозапись; карточки с новыми лексическими единицами; раздаточный материал.

План урока:

  1. Организационный момент.

  2. Cовершенствование умений аудирования по теме "School".

  3. Ознакомление с новыми лексическими единицами по теме.

  4. Активизация новых лексических единиц в речи.

  5. Активизация навыков говорения: описание картинок по теме "School".

  6. Заключительный этап урока:

    • релаксация (прослушивание песни);

    • оценка деятельности учащихся, подведение итогов;

    • объяснение домашнего задания.

Ход урока

I. Организационный момент.

Фонетическая зарядка.

Т: Good morning, dear children. Today we are having a lesson on the topic "School". We'll speak about school building, about your school life.

Let's start our lesson with a phonetic exercise. Look at the blackboard and read the sentences.

The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows. ~Sydney J. Harris

The science of biography is different from geography.

Geography is about maps, but biography is about chaps.

Речевая зарядка.

T: When we speak about school, firs of all, we speak about school building. Would you like to answer my questions? (Учащиеся отвечают на вопросы учителя).

1. What number is your school?

2. Is your school big or small?

3. Is there a schoolyard hear your school?

4. How many floors has your school got?

5. Where is the school library situated?

6. Where can the pupils take books for reading?

7. The dining is on the ground floor, isn't it?

8. How many classrooms has your school got?

9. Is the teachers' room comfortable?

10. Do you like your school?

11. Is your school far from your house?

12. How does it take you to get to your school?

II. Cовершенствование умений аудирования по теме "School".

T: But school is not only a building. School is also our school life, our school holidays and traditions.

We're going to listen to the dialogue about the tradition of prize-giving ceremony at many British high schools. Usually it takes place in summer. Pupils often celebrate the end of the school year. Schools may have a ceremony where speeches are made and prizes are awarded for achievement.

So listen to the dialogue and choose the right answer true or false.

(Учащиеся слушают диалог и выполняют упражнение).

1. David is going to get the "Pupil of the Year" award. (F)

2. David is good at sport. (F)

3. Sarah isn't as good at sport as Clare. (T)

4. Clare is in the basketball team. (F)

5. Mark isn't wearing his watch. (T)

6. The ceremony is starting at four o'clock. (T)

7. Mark looks at his watch at four o'clock. (F)

8. Jenny feels nervous. (T)

Физкульминутка.

T: You're a bit tired. Let's have a rest.

Close your eyes and count up to 10. Open your eyes. Look up, look down, look left, and look right.

Put your head on your left shoulder, put your head on your right shoulder.

Sit straight. Hands up. Wave your hands. Hands apart. Hands ahead. Hands down.

III. Ознакомление с новыми лексическими единицами по теме.

T: Now we're going to get acquainted with new words on the topic "School".

(Учитель знакомит учащихся с новыми словами - слова на карточках. Учащиеся повторяют

слова за учителем и записывают их в словарь).

1. habit - привычка

2. opportunity - возможность

3. to satisfy - удовлетворять

4. satisfactory - удовлетворительный

5. to disappoint - разочаровывать

6. disappointed - разочарованный

7. to acquire - приобрести

8. to point - указывать; обращать внимание

9. success - успех

10. successful - успешный

11. to create - создавать

12. creative - творческий, созидательный

13. to turn to somebody for - обратиться к кому-либо

14. to cope - справляться

IV. Активизация новых лексических единиц в речи.

T: Let's see how you understand the meaning of the new words. Read the sentences and put in the new words into the blanks.

1. You must work hard to acquire a good knowledge of a foreign language.

2. The teacher pointed out to the pupil that his notebook was very untidy.

3. Are you satisfied with your progress in English?

4. The book disappointed me; it wasn't as good as I hoped it would be.

5. Do you cope with difficulties?

6. I'll turn to my friend for help.

7. You should take every opportunity of speaking English.

V. Активизация навыков говорения: описание картинок по теме "School".

T: Now let's return to school and see what teachers and pupils are doing there. Open your books at page 110. Look at the pictures and describe them.

(Учащиеся выполняют упр.12 стр.110 - описать картинки. Обратить внимание на употребление времени Present Continuous).

VI. Заключительный этап урока.

Прослушивание песни.

T: Next week we'll have St.Valentine's day. I suggest you listening and singing the song about this holiday. Later we'll learn this song by heart.

(Учащиеся слушают и поют песню о Дне Святого Валентина).


Girl:

Somebody sent me a valentine.

It must be from Tim

It can't be from Paul

Because I told him

I don't love him anymore

And now he's really sore.

Boy:

Nobody sent me a valentine -

Not one from Sue, Not one from you

Because you told me

You don't love me and that's sad.

In fact, it makes me mad.

Girl:

Somebody sent me a valentine.

I'm feeling good -

I thought I would.

Boy:

Nobody sent me a valentine.

There's nothing from you;

It breaks my heart in two.

Girl:

Somebody send him a valentine.

Make it today

And don't delay.

Boy:

Somebody send me a valentine.

Somebody new

Could make my dream come true.

Объяснение домашнего задания.

T: At home you are to do ex.16 page 112.Read and translate the sentences with the new words.
