Целью данного  урока былоразвитие коммуникативных навыков учащихся, расширение знаний учащихся о культурных традициях страны изучаемого языка. Задачи: Познакомить учащихся с особенностями традиций празднования Рождества в Великобритании. Учить употреблять новый грамматический материал в речи. Активизировать имеющиеся знания учащихся по теме. Учить воспринимать на слух рассказ учителя. Учащиеся познакомятся с традициями и культурой страны изучаемого языка на основе праздника Christmas. Развивающим аспектом было целенаправленное развитие психических функций, связанных с речевой деятельностью, таких как внимание, способность к анализу и синтезу, логическое мышление, способность к выявлению языковых закономерностей, языковая догадка, зрительная и слуховая память, фонематический слух. Воспитательный аспект: повышение интереса к изучению английского языка, воспитание культуры языкового общения, уважительного отношения друг к другу, умения внимательно слушать собеседника.

T: Hello, boys and girls!

I'm very glad to see you now!

Ps: Hello, glad to see you too.

T: Today we are having some guests. They are teachers of our school.

Greet them, please.

Ps: Good morning, dear teachers.

T: Thank you. Sit down, please. You are all very polite.

T: Today we are going to greet winter and speak about a wonderful holiday - Christmas (on the screen: "Christmas - is a Wonderful Holliday", a Christmas tree, decorated with different toys and colored lights.)

There is a date on the blackboard.

-Tuesday, December 25th-

T: Look at the blackboard, please and answer my questions.

T:1.- What day of the week is it today?

P: - It is Tuesday.

T: - Is it true?

P: - No, it isn't Tuesday today. It is Friday.

T: - Well, let's go on.

What month is it now?

P: - It is December now.

T: - Is it right?

P: - No, it isn't December now.

It is November.

T: - What date is it today?

P: - It is the 25th of December

T: - Is it correct?

P: - No, it isn't. It is the 28th of November.

T: OK. Thank you. Let me think a bit. But on the blackboard you can see the 25th of December (pronounce together) Oh, my God! It's clear for me. Now we are in our Magic Time Car.

(There is a fantastic Magic Time Car on the screen)

T: Are you good drivers?

Ps: Yes, we are good drivers (all together)

T: Certainly you are. Then let's make a nice winter tour to America, Italy and Great Britain Let's go!

T: Is it Christmas on the 25th of December in Britain?

P: Yes, It is.

T: Is it Christmas on the 25th of December in Italy?

P: Yes it is.

T: Is it Christmas on the 25th of December in America.

P: Yes it is.

T: OK, Let's celebrate this great holiday with the English, the Americans and the Italians.

T: By the way all European people like to sing songs, and you? Do you like to sing songs?

P: Yes, we do. We like to sing songs.

(On the screen: The name of the song "We wish you a Merry Christmas"

Pupils sing the song together with the teachers. While they are singing there is another picture on the screen: a greeting card "A Merry Christmas")

T: Thank you. You are all nice singers. Don't forget that it is the 25th of December now. It is Christmas and we are in London.

T: - Where do they go to buy presents?

P: - They go to buy presents in the shops.

(on the screen) the nearest and dearest.

(Children are reading the word-combination and translate it.)

T: - Whom do they buy presents for?

P: - They buy presents for their nearest and dearest.

T: - Who gives presents for English children?

P: - Father Christmas gives presents for English children.

(Children are speaking about Christmas presents.)

T: - Well, you know a lot. But I'm hungry a bit and you? Let's have Christmas dinner. What is it, I wonder?

P: - For Christmas dinner the English eat turkey, potatoes and green vegetables.

Then they have a Christmas pudding. At five in the evening it's time for tea and Christmas cake.

T: Certainly. The dinner is tasty.

(Children are retelling the whole text.)

T: An American boy, called Nick prepared for you some more information about Christmas (texts for pupils).

T: Here are some words. Repeat the words after me.

Pupils are reciting their poems. Teacher thanks pupils and gives them presents.

VI.T: Thank you, Children. You have got only excellent marks. Please, listen to Christmas carols. It will be your homework.
