«Do you know Britain? »

1 конкурс «Greetings»

Команды называют себя, показывают эмблемы и приветствуют соперников.

2 конкурс «Do you remember? »

Каждой команде задаются по 8 вопросов. Учитывается правильность и время.

I команда:

1 How many parts of the country are situated on the island of Great Britain? (3)

2 What river is the capital situated on? (Оn the Thames)

3 Who is officially the head of the country? ( Queen Elizabeth II)

4 What is the seat of the British Government? (the Houses of Parliament)

3 конкурс «A look at the British History»

Участники команд получают карточки с описанием достопримечательностей, которые предлагается назвать членам команд.

4 конкурс «Famous People. Who were they? »

Учащиеся по очереди берут карточки, на которых приводится информация о знаменитых людях Великобритании. Предлагается назвать их имена.

5 конкурс «Captains competition»

Каждому из капитанов по очереди предлагаются задания: give the name of each tourist site attraction.

1 Here you can see wax models of famous people. (Madam Tussaud,s)

2 This is the Queen's residence in London. (Buckingham Palace)

3 MPS debate and argue here and there in a clock tower with famous bell in it. (The

Houses of Parliament)

4 This building was rebuilt by Christopher Wren after the Great Fire of London in

1666. It has a famous Whispering Gallery (St. Paul s Cathedral)

5 English kings and queens are usually married here. Many of then are also buried

here, as well many famous writers. (Westminster Abbey)

7 This round place is often called the Centre of London. There is a statue of gross in

Каждая команда по очереди угадывает по фотографиям достопримечательности Великобритании.


Урок-соревнование по теме:

«Достопримечательности Лондона»

Цели: обобщение изученного материала по теме «Лондон», совершенствование умений диалогической речи, активизация лексических и фонетических умений.

Ход урока:

1 Орг. момент

Good morning, children!

I'm glad to see you.

Today we shall have a competition on the topic Faces of London. Let's divide into two teams and think of the name for the teams.

Учащиеся делятся на 2 команды, придумывают названия, выбирают капитанов. Учитель объясняет правила и сообщает, что за каждое выполненное задание команды будут получать баллы.

1 конкурс «Town words»

Задача, составить и записать как можно больше слов по теме «Город». За каждое слово 1 балл. ( park, street, police …)

2 конкурс «A Boaster»

Задача, опровергнуть намерения соперников, используя отрицательные предложения. За каждое правильное предложение 1 балл.

Let's remember our game «A Boaster». Such team will think of different statements. Your task is to express your doubt.

1 I shall go to London next month.

2 You will not go to London next month.

2 I have visited St Games Park.

1 You have not visited St Games Park….

3 конкурс «Dialogues»

Члены каждой команды составляют диалог и разыгрывают его. ( 5 баллов)

Now we shall role-play the dialogues about the capital of GB today. You will work in groups during 5 min. and then we shall listen to you dialogues.

Примерный диалог:

  • Hello, Ted!

  • Hello, Fred! How are you?

  • I am fine. I have been to London with my family.

  • Great! When did you go there?

  • We went there last month. We stayed in the capital of GB for four days.

  • What places of interest did you visit?

  • We visited Hyde Park, Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace. But I like MOMI best of all.

  • MOMI? What is it?

  • It's the museum of Moving Image. The history and magic of cinema is explained there. Visitors can take an active part in films or select a film to watch.

  • You are lucky.

  • Come to my place one day. I will show you the pictures of London.

  • OK, let's meet tomorrow.

  • Good bye, Ted!

  • Good buy, Fred!

How our captains will have the special task. They must continue and finish the logical chain. Take your seats, please. There are the cards on your desks. Look at them/You can see the task for you there.

Good evening, boys and girls! Welcome to our Halloween party!

On the thirty first of October is Halloween, ghosts and witches are free and you can expect to meet them. A long time ago people were afraid and stayed at home on Halloween. But now in Britain it is a day for fun. There are always a lot of parties that night. Some people wear masks others dress as ghosts and witches. Every body is happy. At the parties both adults and children have fun, they play different merry games. Don't be afraid if you see ghosts, goblins and black cats today at our party. Perhaps you don't know much about Halloween. What is it like?

Now we shell see the play which tells us about this funny and at the same time horror holiday.

1 Ghosts and witches.

Команды друг напротив друга - это привидения. Из каждой команды выбирают 2 ведьм, им завязывают глаза и ставят в центр. Привидения по одному пытаются перейти в противоположную команду. Если ведьма слышит, как крадется привидение из команды соперников, она говорит I heard a ghost. Если она права, то привидение выбывает из игры. Если она ошибается, то привидение из ее команды покидает игру. Цель ведьм - поймать как можно больше привидений из противоположной команды.

2 Find the Halloween words.

I think it is unusual but merry holiday. And now I want three pupils to do the first task. The game is called "Find the Halloween words." Три ученика получают карточки с заданием: найти и обвести слова по теме праздника.

3 Halloween words.

Ученики делятся на команды по 3 человека. Каждой команде дают по листку со словом Halloween. За 5 минут каждая команда должна написать как можно больше слов, состоящих из букв, которые есть в слове Halloween.

4 Pumpkin Bean Bag. (бросай мешочек с бобами)

Вырежьте из картона маску с отверстиями, в которые можно бросить мячик, попадая в отверстие, дети получают очки.

(5 очков - в рот, 10 очков- в нос, 20 очков - в глаза)

5 Who Stole my Broomstick?

Дети выстраиваются полукругом. Водящий берет метлу за спину, отворачивается. Один из играющих забирает метлу у водящего и прячет ее за спину. Остальные игроки прячут за спину руки и кричат We stole your broomstick! Водящий пытается угадать у кого метла.

6 What was I?

Все дети перевоплощаются в призраков. Первый становится лицом ко всем и ведущий спрашивает его What did you do before you died?

Играющий отвечает: Before I died I was … и изображает профессию. Все угадывают. Кто угадал - сам приведение.

7 Skeleton Fun.

Собрать скелет из картонных костей.

8 Blow the Ghost.

Передвинуть привидение из папиросной бумаги с помощью картона, помахивая им как веером.

9 Конкурс на лучшего чтеца.

On Octobers last night.

It's very dark and dreary.

As you know at midnight

There is a ball for devilry.

With no sun and no lights

And only jack-o-lanterns,

One can watch some creature's flights:

Devils, witches and goblins.

A lady ghost, wearing white

Expects Dracula's dance.

A little goblin takes delight

In giving her a glance.

They all look happy, very day,

The smiles are clearly seen.

Such parties aren't every day-

Only on Halloween.
