Theme: Working day

The type of lesson: the formation of grammatical competence on the Present Simple Tense

The kind of lesson: combined lesson

Objectives:

  • Vocabulary: daily habits/ routines, lifestyles, telling the time.

  • Reading: scanning to find specific forms.

  • Listening: for specific information.

  • Communication: getting more information.

  • Grammar: Present Simple

Methods and techniques used in the lesson: explanatory and illustrative method (information-reproductive); the method of stimulation and motivation.

Work in class: collective, individual

The equipment of the lesson: textbook Enterprise II, workbook, notebook, audio snippet, video presentation.


Procedure:


  1. Introductory stage:

Good afternoon, children!

Sit down, please!

Who is absent today? What`s the date today?

Today we will try to remember some notes about The Present Simple Tense and will remind some information under the topic "Working day" and you`ll speak about working day.


  • Warming-up

Let`s start from the review "What`s the Time?" (slide 2). Pay attention on prepositions of time at 4 o`clock. Let`s have practice. (slide 3)


  • Homework review

I`d like to checque your home task. What was your home task? - ex. 3 p. 8 WB.

Open your WB, please. Let`s start.


  1. Main stage:

  • Vocabulary exercises (slide 4)

Look at the expressions on the slide! Now listen to my questions, please! They'll help you in your work.

b) Look at the table and talk about John`s daily routine.

    Who wants to be our guest? So, imagine that she/ he is an American girl/ boy. She/ He is from Washington. Ask her/ him all kind of questions concerning her/ his life, working day.
