Grammar in Proverbs and Sayings.
1. The Plural of Nouns:
So many countries, so many customs. Что ни город, то норов.
(Что ни деревня, то обычай)

New brooms sweep clean. Новая метла чисто метет.

Many words cut more than swords. Злые языки - острый меч.

Many men, many minds. Сколько голов, столько умов.

Men may meet, but mountains
never greet. Гора с горой не сходится, а
человек с человеком сойдется.

Geese with geese, and women with women. Гусь свинье не товарищ.

Life in not a bed of roses. Жизнь - не ложе из роз.
(Жизнь прожить - не поле перейти)

When the cat is away, the mice will play. Без кота мышам раздолье.

2. The Degrees of Comparison of Adjectives:

A good name is better than riches. Добрая слава лучше богатства.
