Оборудование: подборка стихов, викторины, мультимедия для показа видеопрезентации, жетоны с символами праздника, записи с музыкой на диске, дидактический раздаточный материал для конкурсов и для выполнения заданий, атрибутика для оформления зала (класса), призы за конкурсы, авторучки или карандаши, бумага

Цель: повышение интереса обучающихся к культуре изучаемого языка, ознакомление с традициями празднования Дня Святого Валентина в Великобритании и США


- формирование страноведческих навыков по английскому языку

- развитие лексических навыков по теме «Праздники»

- расширение кругозора обучающихся

- формирование языковой догадки, смекалки и творческих способностей

- повышение мотивации к изучению английского языка

- формирование и развитие коммуникативных, информационных и социокультурных компетенций обучающихся.

Вступительное слово учителя


Dear children and guests! It's time to say "Hello" and start our amazing party! It is devoted to St. Valentine's Day, one of the most favorite holidays in the UK and the USA. They celebrate this holiday on February 14. It is a day of love and friendship. Valentine's Day is a new holiday in Russia, but it's becoming more and more popular. Today we are going to learn a lot of new and interesting things about customs and traditions of celebrating of St. Valentine's Day,. We'll take part in some Valentine's competitions and just have fun. But first of all I want you to meet the participants from two teams. The first team will be girls called «Angels » and the second group will be boys with the name « Cupids» They are going to compete! Let's see what team will win!

( Дети встают в круг, включается весёлая музыка, детям отдаётся заранее приготовленный, завёрнутый в несколько слоёв бумаги какой-нибудь забавный презент, Музыка периодически останавливается учителем, в этот момент снимается один слой бумаги , и так до последней бумажки. Тот, у кого окажется в руках подарок, тот его и выиграл ). Игру можно повторять несколько раз.
