• Look at the desk! There are 3 countries with their traditional music.

Do you know any Latin dances?

1. Buenos Aires. It's music began in the 19^th century. Its biggest influence was flamenco guitar.

2. Havana was the birthplace of many Afro-Cuban dance styles, including salsa

3. Seville. Its music is Flamenco which began in the 17^th century as a song and dance with very fast hand clapping.

Let's listen 3 types of Latin dance music and you have to find out which music goes with which city.

III. Home task:

History of Music is divided into 6 stages.

Do you see the dates of these stages? Your task will be to make the sentences using these dates in Past Simple.

1. What did people do before the advent of music?

2. How did they stay calm throughout a long, nerve-wracking day?

3. How did they relax after a long, hard day at work?

While the reading tasks:

1. Around 100 A.D., early Christians began practicing a form of chanting adapted largely from their Jewish heritage.

Most of the most famous composers in history come from this era.

 By 1825, the modern orchestra was almost fully in place (except for the tuba and low woodwinds).

 It was during this era that many of the most famous pieces of music were written, including symphonies and operas.
