Итоговый урок по теме "Sports in Our Life"

Цели урока:

Дидактическая - формирование аудитивных умений и умений грамматического и лексического оформления высказывания, совершенствование навыков изучающего чтения и письма, развитие умений вести и поддерживать беседу по теме «Sports in our life», расширение и обогащение активной словарной лексики учащихся, систематизация видов спорта Англии, Америки, развитие монологической речи, языковой догадки, т.е. обобщить материал по указанной теме, углубить и расширить знания по теме.

Развивающая - развитие языковых, интеллектуальных, коммуникативных способностей учащихся, развитие умений сопоставления, обобщения объектов по их признакам, развитие образного мышления и выразительной речи, развитие активности и внимательности, умений работать самостоятельно и в команде, развивать культуру речи при презентации, т.е. совершенствовать умения и навыки практического владения английским языком по данной теме по всем видам речевой деятельности: аудирование, говорение, чтение, письмо.

Воспитательная - культура общения; приобщение к спорту, здоровому образу жизни, повышение интереса к спорту и физической культурой

Образовательные - актуализировать знания об истории возникновения олимпийских игр и сформировать навыки о традициях проведения их на современном этапе.

Оборудование: карточки с различными видами деятельности, аудиозапись с разминкой «Hands up, hands down», презентационный материал, газеты, схемы, таблицы, пословицы по теме «Sports in our life», картинки с различными видами спорта

Тип урока: интегрированный.

Т1.: Good morning children. At our previous lessons we talked much about sport. We are very glad to see you at our competition. Today we have a final lesson at the theme "sports". There are four teams in our classroom.

T2.: Thousands years ago ancient Greeks said: "A sound mind is in a sound body." Millions of people who go in for sports know from their own experience that this famous saying is true to fact. At the same time a great number of people do not go in for sports. Some of them realize that sports is useful but prefer watching sport competitions on TV to going in for it themselves.

T1.: Today the teams will show us their knowledge at writing, speaking, listening, reading of the theme "Sports". We shall do different exercises and find out if sport is important in our life. Your knowledge will be marked by our respected jury. The winner will be the team with the biggest number of the balls. The pupils who show the best knowledge of the topic will be given special prizes. Let's start our competition.

The ancient Olympics Games were held at Olympia in Ancient Greece. The games first took place in 776 ВС. That's when the Greeks began keeping records of the winners. The ancient Games continued until about 392 AD, more than 1,000 years!

Athletes came from many cities of Greece to compete in races, boxing and wrestling matches, gymnastics, and weightlifting. They also threw a bronze disc, and jumped for distance. Wealthy Greeks raced their horses. Winners were crowned with wreaths of olive leaves.

The Olympic Games were brought back in 1896. The first modern Olympic Games were held in Athens, the capital of Greece. Only nine countries participated in the first Games, and all the athletes were men.

Today, about 10,000 athletes compete in the Olympic Games, and nearly half of them are women. They represent about 200 nations.

At first, the modern Olympics included only summer sports, such as swimming, rowing, and track and field. Figure skating was added in 1908, and ice hockey in 1920. The first winter Olympic Games were held in 1924.
