• make new friends

• go sightseeing

• learn traditions of other countries

Because travelling is

Exciting

interesting

useful

fascinating

enjoyable

good for health

But sometimes it can be…

Travel…

broadens our mind/outlook

gives us life experience

leaves unforgettable impressions

helps us explore the world

allows us to understand other people better

For example:

P1 -We like to travel usually for pleasure, don't we? P2 - I agree with you. I like to travel for pleasure and I think that travelling is sense of freedom.

P1When we travel we like to go sightseeing. Do you agree? P2 - I enjoy travelling because travelling is exciting. But sometimes it can be disappointing.P1 - Travel gives us life experience, doesn't it? …….

Let's summarize everything you have said.

P. To sum up all statements I can say that travelling is exciting and interesting. When you travel, you have a chance to develop your outlook (you learn more about the lifestyle, traditions and customs of visiting countries), you can visit new places of interest and meet different people and make friends with them. Travelling abroad helps us to study foreign languages and it distracts from our everyday life. For some people travelling is a job, they develop trade and economic relationships between the countries.

T: Thank you, … Travelling is really necessary for people. However, do you know what the most popular kind of travelling is?

P1. I think it's a car.

P2.I think that the most popular kind of travelling is a train.

P3.It seems to me that it's a plane.

T: Tell me please, what kind of travelling do you prefer? Who wants to share you opinion?

III. Defence of the projects.

A) P1.As for me, I prefer travelling by car. We have a car (I mean my parents) and in summer we usually try to go somewhere to have a rest. Travelling by car is very convenient. It gives us freedom. When we travel we don't think about tickets, we don't carry our suitcases, we can stop wherever we wish. But, of course, I confess the fact, that nowadays it's rather dangerous way of travelling because of multitude accidents on the roads. Besides, we should think about traffic jams and difficulty of getting about a car in the rush hours in big cities. But still I'm for travelling by car.

T:What about you …?

P2.As for me, I prefer travelling by train. It's not very expensive. I usually travel with my family, relatives or friends and we have a good time in a train. Besides, modern trains have got very comfortable seats and there are sleeping-cars and dining-cars which make even the longest journey enjoyable. And I think that it's safer to travel by train than by car or by plain.

P3.I can say that a lot of people like travelling by ship. Of course, if they don't have a seasickness. The decks of ships are usually large. So, people can play different games, swim in the swimming-pools. It is held a lot of different concerts and competitions during the voyage. When a ship stops in a port of a town people can go sightseeing there. And I can add that the main advantage of travelling by ship is that we can spend a lot of time in the open air. It's useful for our health.

T: Tell me please, what way of transport did you use?

P1. When I travelled to the USA we went there by plane.

P2.We went to Turkey by plane too.

P3.And our travelling to Egypt was by plane too.

T: Why do people prefer to travel by plane than other ways of travelling?

P1.It's the fastest and the most convenient way of travelling.

P2.People prefer it because they can visit many countries in a short time.
