Тема занятия: Мир хобби и увлечений

Цели занятия:

методическая:

- усовершенствование методики проведения практического занятия с

внедрением элементов мультимедийных технологий в процесс подготовки

специалистов с целью формирования навыков активной самостоятельной

работы и приобретения обучающимися индивидуального опыта учебно-

познавательной деятельности;

- показать целесообразность применения интерактивных методов обучения при

систематизации знаний по дисциплине "Иностранный язык";

- продемонстрировать возможности использования групповых форм обучения

для активизации умственной деятельности обучающихся;

- развитие интереса обучающихся к изучению иностранного языка;

учебная:

- отрабатывать коммуникативные навыки, приобретенные знания на практике;

- развивать умения обучающихся анализировать поставленные проблемы,

систематизировать полученную информацию, делать выводы;

Good morning, dear students and guests! I'm very glad to see you today! You may sit down…

How are you? What date is it today? What day of the week is it today? Who is absent today? Are all present? Are you ready for the class? Then let's begin it.

II. Мотивация обучения:

Knowledge on this topic is necessary for students for broadening of their outlook, for the completion and deepening of active lexical vocabulary, for the development of interest for studying English, for the demonstration of students' intellectual and language capabilities.

At the last class we spoke about your day off and your activities, your сlasses, your free time and rest and so on… Let's repeat some moments at once. Answer the following questions:

-Please, give the synonyms of the day off.

-When do you get up on Sunday?

-What do you do in the morning?

-What do you eat for breakfast?

-How do you usually spend your days off?

-Do you go in for sports on your weekends?

-Do you often go to see your friends?

- What do you associate with 'entertainment'?

- What can people do to have fun?

- How do you spend your free time?

2. Устный опрос: драматизация диалогов.

Your task for today was to prepare dialogues about your weekend and to dramatize them. Let's listen to your dialogues. Who wants to present us the dialogues?

IV. Изложение и изучение нового материала:

1. Ознакомление обучающихся с темой и целью занятия.

The topic of our class is "The world of hobbies". Today we will talk about our free time and about our hobbies. And I'd like to know what hobbies you have and what you like doing in your free time.

We will continue to develop our lexical skills, communicative abilities, our memory, speech and attention. We will listen to each other and we will develop our culture of communication skills.

2. Мотивация учебной деятельности обучающихся.

Our class is devoted to one of the most interesting topics for the youth. Everybody of you is delighting in different activities and you have different interests. We can't live without interests. Our life will be very boring and sad without our hobbies. Our activity and our occupations help us to develop a strong character, to set up the connection with future life and sometimes with future speciality and profession.

The scientists conducted the experiments and found the interesting properties of music. It turns out that music has the positive influence on mastering of information. In this connection great number of modern teachers use the technique of listening to music on their classes with the aim of relaxation and further perception of material by the students. I propose you to listen to the song of John Karvelas. The words of the song are written by the well-known Welsh poet and writer William Henry Davies. It is his poem "Leisure". The poem has an attitude to our class. I want you to listen to the song and to answer several questions.

What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.

We have no time to stand and stare.

3. План изучения нового материала:

3.1. Общая характеристика понятия "хобби".

Open your copy-books and write down the date and the topic of our class today.

Look at the screen and read the motto of our class: "Our best friend is our hobby".

But what is it "a hobby"? I have some things on the table. Name them and guess what they mean. What word can be common for all of them?

Please, look at the screen and let's find the answer to this question what hobby is.

Write down the definition of the word in your copy-books. Oxford dictionary gives such a definition: "Hobby is something that you do regularly for pleasure in your free time.

Nowadays there are many modern interesting kinds of hobbies. Look at the screen and write down them in your copy-books:

3.4. Активизация лексических навыков по теме "Мир хобби и

увлечений".

Hobbies differ like tastes. If you have chosen a hobby according to your character and taste you are lucky because your life becomes more interesting. So we have learnt that hobbies are divided into four large classes: doing things, making things, collecting things, and learning things.

Different people have different hobbies. But what hobbies do they usually have? I am sure you know the names of them. Try to remember as many hobbies as you can. The world of hobbies is very different. I want you to go to the poster and write down their names. Who will be the first? second?...

Let's check up these words. Are there any mistakes? Let's correct them.

3.5. "Необычные" и опасные хобби (просмотр видео).

And now I'd like to ask you. Do you know anything about "unusual hobbies" or dangerous hobbies? What are "unusual hobbies"? Let's watch the video.

I want you to see the video about the most expensive hobbies in the world.

3.6. Работа в группах. Соревнование "Лучшее увлечение".

Today we are going to have a little competition. Our students had the task to choose three main groups of hobbies. They did it and as a result we have three teams:

I team- "Travellers"

II team- "Musicians"

III team- "Sportsmen"

Everybody in each group likes a special kind of hobbies. I want you to prove the advantages of your interests . Let's start with "Travellers". Prove us that your hobby is the best.

The students show their presentations.

And now our teams have the next task. You must write down as much as possible words which are connected with your favourite type of hobbies. You have 2 minutes.

The students write down the words.

Read your words in turn.

OK, we see that our students proved us the advantages of their favourite types of hobbies. We understand that every kind of hobby has its advantages and every hobby is interesting and has the positive influence on the people. Thanks to everybody for your preparation.

3.7. Пословицы, связанные с увлечениями и хобби.

Look at the proverbs on the screen, guess their meaning and think of Russian equivalents of these proverbs. I express your versions.

1. Art is long, life is short.

2. Every man has his hobby-horse.

3. Tastes differ.

4. The busiest man finds the most leisure.

5. Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today.

6. There is a time for everything.

3.8. Игра "Угадай хобби" с элементами аудирования.

There are many different hobbies. Let's revise the names of hobbies. Let's play the game "Guess the hobby". You have to guess the names of hobbies. Listen the information and tell me the right name of the hobby.

Now our lesson is going to the end and I want to say some words about our lesson. I think that the aim of our lesson is achieved. You have known something new about different hobbies, classes of hobbies, unusual and dangerous hobbies and the hobbies of celebrities. You've also improved your skills of communication and have got practice in areas of speaking, making presentations, working in groups, taking part in gaming. I want to thank everybody.

I am glad to see that you have done a good job. You were active at the lesson. I enjoyed your work very much. Your answers were good. And now let's know about your marks. Your marks are...

VII. Домашнее задание:

Your homework will be to translate the text "A Square-Eyed Generation" ("Spotlight" page 122-123) into Russian. You also have to prepare 10 questions about TV, computer games and other entertainments in our country and carry out a survey in your group and then to write a paragraph reporting the results ("Spotlight", p.123 ex. 8). And your creative work will be to make mini presentation on the topic "Hobbies of Teenagers in Great Britain".
