Introduction

The theme parks play a great role in the life of any country. Firstly, they tell us about the culture of a country. They also demonstrate the history of a country. Secondly, the parks attract tourist to visit the country. It leads to the economical growth of a country.

Disney World in Florida is a beautiful place for tourists of all over the world. You can find everything for the rest and pleasure not only rides but places for dreaming and taking photos. This park of attractions is famous all over the world.

The subject of our work is the studying of the most popular park in the USA Disneyland in Florida, Orlando.

In our work we aim at the studying the Disneyland in Florida more deeply.

We should:

1. Study theoretical sources;

2. Find out the history of this park;

3. Find out the attractions.

Chapter 1.

History and development

This park is named after its creator Walt Disney. He was an American animator, film director and founder of the company " Walt Disney Productions".

The idea to create pleasure children's park arose at Disney when he walked with daughters in park. While children went to drive on roundabouts, the father patiently was waiting for them. During these walks he also came to a conclusion that America didn't have a place where it would be interesting to spend time both for adults and children. And then Disney decided to create such place.

In 1955 Walt Disney opened his first park in Anaheim, California.

In 1959, Walt Disney Productions began looking for land for a second park to supplement Disneyland. Market surveys revealed that only 5% of Disneyland's visitors came from east of the Mississippi River, where 75 percent of the population of the United States lived. Additionally, Walt Disney disliked the businesses that had sprung up around Disneyland and wanted control of a much larger area of land for the new project.

Walt Disney flew over the Orlando site (one of many) in November 1963. Seeing the well-developed network of roads, including the planned Interstate 4 and Florida's Turnpike, with McCoy Air Force Base (later Orlando International Airport) to the east, Disney selected a centrally-located site near Bay Lake.

To avoid a burst of land speculation, Disney used various dummy corporations to acquire 27,443 acres (11,106 ha) of land. In May 1965, some of these major land transactions were recorded a few miles southwest of Orlando in Osceola County. Also, two large tracts totaling $1.5 million were sold, and smaller tracts of flatlands and cattle pastures were purchased by exotic-sounding companies such as the Latin-American Development and Management Corporation and the Reedy Creek Ranch Corporation (Some of these names are now memorialized on a window above Main Street, U.S.A. in the Magic Kingdom). In addition to three huge parcels of land were many smaller parcels, referred to as "outs."

Much of the land acquired had been platted into 5-acre (2.0 ha) lots in 1912 by the Munger Land Company and sold to investors. In most cases, the owners were happy to get rid of the land, which was mostly swamp. Another issue was the mineral rights to the land, which were owned by Tufts University. Without the transfer of these rights, Tufts could come in at any time and demand the removal of buildings to obtain minerals. Disney's team eventually negotiated a deal with Tufts to buy the mineral rights for $15,000.

After most of the land had been bought, the truth of the property's owner was leaked to the Orlando Sentinel newspaper on October 20, 1965. A press conference soon was organized for November 15. At the presentation, Walt Disney explained the plans for the site, including EPCOT, the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, which was to be a futuristic planned city (and which was also known as Progress City). He envisioned a real working city with both commercial and residential areas, but one that also continued to showcase and test new ideas and concepts for urban living.

Walt Disney died from lung cancer on December 15, 1966, before his vision was realized. His brother and business partner, Roy O. Disney, postponed his retirement to oversee construction of the resort's first phase.

Chapter 2.

Attractions

The wonderful world of Disney tops the list for most Orlando vacations for kids of all ages. Walt Disney World Florida first opened its gates to the public just over thirty-five years ago, transforming a quiet southern farming community into the biggest international vacation destination in the world.

Disneyland Florida is made up of four amazing theme parks in Orlando: Disney's Magic Kingdom, Disney Hollywood Studios, Disney Animal Kingdom, and Epcot.

At 30,000 acres, Walt Disney World is the size of the city of San Francisco, and twice as big as Manhattan.

Disney's Magic Kingdom .The centerpiece of Walt Disney World Florida is the Magic Kingdom. The first of many global spin-offs of California's Disneyland, it is home to the childhood memories of generations, from Snow White to the Lion King. Like Disneyland, it is made up of areas like Frontierland, Adventureland, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland. Don't be surprised if you run into Micky, Goofy, or Cinderella along Main Street USA.

The starting point for most first-time visitors on a Disney World vacation, it's good to arrive an hour early to beat the crowds at opening time. Frontierland has Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and the animatronic Country Bear Jamboree show. Tomorrowland features Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, and Stitch's Great Escape. At Adventureland, you'll find the Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, Swiss Family Tree house, and Magic Carpets of Aladdin. Other popular attractions include the Haunted Mansion and It's A Small World.

Disney Hollywood Studios. Originally planned as a working studio, Disney Hollywood Studios is a fully functioning movie and television production center, as well as a top Florida family vacation destination.

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror takes guests in a haunted elevator car of the deserted Hollywood Tower Hotel, and then drops them 130 feet. The Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular has the audience involved in the filming of an action movie. Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show features high-flying high-speed movie stunts full of pyrotechnic effects. Other Attractions include the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster featuring Aerosmith.

Disney Animal Kingdom. This 500-acre zoo park features a menagerie of exotic free-roaming animals. The best time to encounter the lions, elephants, zebras, and giraffes of the free-roaming Kilimanjaro Safaris is in the cool of the morning or at the late-afternoon feeding by the Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge.

In between, chill out on the Asian tiger themed Kali River Rapids, and then head indoors to ride past the animated robotic Dinosaurs, or the popular 3-D show "Its Tough To Be a Bug."

Epcot .A must-see at Disney's theme parks in Orlando is the Epcot center. Future World, dominated by the geodesic Spaceship Earth, offers popular edutainment rides like the interactive Mission: Space and Soarin'. Postcard pavilions from China, Mexico, and Morocco surround the World Showcase lagoon, where you can also enjoy a glass of wine in France or a stein of beer in Germany.

One reason why Disneyland is a popular destination for tourists is due to the fact that there are plenty of things to do. This theme park area is massive enough that it would take roughly 5 days to completely explore its many sights, attractions, and rides. It is smart to come up with a vacation plan well in advance to save more time deciding and spend more time exploring Disneyworld with your family.

Disney World is all about entertainment. This is why two entertainment complexes are built for tourists to visit and take in more sights. Disney entertainment complexes offer free admission, so you won't have to spend a single penny when you visit them.

The first and more popular of these two complexes is Downtown Disney. This complex is massive enough to house three more sections: The Marketplace, the West Side, and the Hyperion Wharf. There are stores, restaurants, gift shops, and free chocolate samples (make sure to drop by at the Ghiradelli store) there!

The second complex, The Boardwalk, is where you will find lots of hotels wherein tourists can stay while visiting Disneyland in Florida. There are nightclubs and restaurants worth exploring, too. If you are looking for unique entertainment, you will also spot street performers at The Boardwalk that offer various acts from magic illusions to juggling and all sorts of exhibitions.

Tower of Terror. If there is one ride that people will always recommend when visiting Disneyland, it would have to be the Tower of Terror. This ride is beyond compare when it comes to the level of excitement and adrenaline rush! The Tower of Terror also epitomizes a modern-day Disneyland ride that is all about the thrill. The launching and multiple free falls are nothing compared to the psychological thrill that this ride inspires amongst riders. It is a treat for thrill-seeking riders, although most would not dare ride it again. For this reason and more, this is a main attraction at Disney World and deemed by many as the best ride there is.

Expedition Everest. No trip to Disneyland is ever complete without riding a roller coaster. And in Disney World in Florida, Expedition Everest is what will fulfill that adrenaline rush. This dark-themed ride incorporates all the exciting coaster elements that appeal to all riders, young and old. In addition to the dark theme, it features backward coaster motion and an intense G-force that is powering this ride. All kids below 44 inches are prohibited from riding the Expedition Everest, though.

Pirates of the Caribbean. One of Disney's most famous rides, Pirates of the Caribbean, has been treating visitors with its salty tales for years. This ride has become somewhat of a landmark at Disneyland in Florida since its debut in 1967. And yet, it has remained as popular as ever with its incorporation of frightening images and splashdowns that never fail to entertain! First-time goers will adore this theme park ride for its presentation and unmatched excitement. Meanwhile, those who have been aboard the Pirates before will find themselves being lured back in.

Dining at Disney World. When you are done with all the exciting rides, make sure to explore the many culinary attractions and fast food chains lined up near Disney World. There is a good mix of casual and fancy restaurants to choose from. Florida is known for its many wonderful culinary offerings, apart from the thrilling rides at Disneyland. Sampling these wonderful cuisines will therefore leave a more lasting imprint into your vacation. Be as open as you can be with these food choices and you will be pleased at what you will find.

Exciting rides will make up most of your time at Disneyland in Florida. You should never miss popular and exciting rides such as the Tower of Terror, Expedition Everest, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Soarin', to name a few. Exploring the culinary adventures at Florida along the amusement park or paying a visit to the Disney entertainment complexes would be worth the memories you make.

Chapter 3.

Practical work.

In our practical work I asked my classmates these questions:

1. Have you ever visited attractions ?

2. What attractions have you visited?

3. What are your impressions?

4. What attractions would you like to visit?

5. Have you ever been in the Disneyland in Florida?

6. Would you like to visit it?

And we got such results:

1. All my classmates have visited theme parks.

2. 50 per cent rode ferris wheel

35 per cent rode roundabouts

15 per cent rode whirlwind

3. 75 per cent of classmates had a very good impression.

25 per cent had good impression.

4. 85 per cent would like to visit roller coaster.

15 per cent wouldn't like to visit any attractions.

5. Nobody in my class have been in the Disneyland.

6. 75 per cent would like to visit Disneyland.

25 per wouldn't like to visit it.

So we see that most of my classmates are interested in Disneyland

Conclusion

So, we have studied the most popular park in the USA. We have learned that this park is visited by many tourists.

If has got unusual history.

We can consider that when we meet with such park our interest in foreign language rises. It leads to that we study and learn better.
