STAR HOUR: "WASHINGTON, THE CAPITAL AND THE PRESIDENT"

(9 кл. Unit 5 "Happy English-2")

Задачи:

• Развивать интерес к изучаемому материалу.

• Совершенствовать навыки аудирования и говорения.

• Учить общению.

2. Картины (репродукции) известных достопримечательностей Вашингтона DC:

Место проведения: кабинет английского языка №6 II этаж.

Состав игроков: 6 учащихся 9 классов и их 6 друзей (родителей).

Начало игры. Сообщение цели и темы занятия. Игра состоит из 3 туров.

I тур.

1. Представление участников игры. Дети по очереди говорят некоторые факты о себе, знакомясь с публикой.

2. Does anybody want to get the very first star? Then you must sing a song or recite a poem. Please. Дети (желающие) читают стихи, поют песни на английском языке. За каждый ответ дается звезда.

3. Now let me declare the topic of our game. It's: "Washington, the capital and the President". Look at these famous sightseeing in Washington DC:

   5. Washington Memorial;

   6. Jefferson Memorial.

Washington does not belong to a state. It is a city and a district - the District of Columbia. Washington is located on the East Coast. It was chosen by George Washington as a permanent site for American nation's capital on December 1, 1800. Now listen to the first question, please.

7. He was born in Virginia, just south of Washington, DC. He grew up on a large farm. He went to school for about 8 years. He especially liked Mathematics, he also liked to study History and Geography, because he wanted to know about other parts of the world. He led the American Army in many battles during the war, for American Independence. Who is he? (N1 - George Washington)
