The lesson plan for Go "

  1. Talk with the students what they did last week, where they went, what places they went to…etc.

  2. Write the word 'GO' in the middle of the board and elicit the phrases with the word 'go' and prepositions that are used after this word.

  3. Write down the words and prepositions the students say and make up a word map.

  4. Add the words the students don't know. (see the list of words and phrases)

  5. Drill the phrases by repeating, asking questions, using different games.

  6. Play with the ball. Say the phrase from the word map, throw the ball, the student is to make up a sentence with it/or just say it with a proper preposition.

  7. Get the students practice the phrases in pairs. Give out the cards. There are two variants. Ask the students to write one-word answers to the questions. Then they work in pairs pointing to the answer- word and asking the questions: 'Why did you write it?'. The other student answers using the phrases with 'go'.

E.g. One of the students has got the word PARK. The other asks him/her: Why did you write it? He/she answers/ It' s a good place to go for a walk. (see student1 card)

8. Ask the student to make up a story using the verbs you have written on the board. Choose the best story.
