Урок в 5классе

Тема: Daily Routines

Цели: практическая - актуализация лексики по теме « Ежедневные дела»

образовательная - формирование лексических и грамматических навыков, навыков чтения и аудирования

воспитательная - научить быть внимательными и дисциплинированными, планировать свой рабочий день

развивающая - развивать память и познавательную активность, расширять кругозор

Ресурсы: учебник Starlight 5 (V. Evans, J. Dooley, K. Baranova, V. Kopylova, R. Millrood) , классная доска, картинки, MP3запись.







THE PROCEDURE OF THE LESSON

I Greeting

Teacher- Good morning, I am glad to see you.

Pupils - Good morning, we are glad to see you, too.

II Warming up and motivation

P- It's Tuesday.

T- Do you go to school every Tuesday?

P- Yes, I do.

T - How many lessons do you have on Tuesday?

P - We have 5 lessons on Tuesday.

T - Activities that we do every day are called daily routines. Today we are going to speak about daily routines.

III Vocabulary practice

Aim - to revise vocabulary; to personalize the topic and practice vocabulary

T - Look through the list of verbs and at the pictures of daily routines and fill in the gaps.

Ps answers:

1- get up 2- take a shower 3 - have breakfast 4- go to school 5- have lessons 6- do sports 7- have dinner 8- do my homework 9- walk the dog 10- watch a DVD 11- brush my teeth 12- go to bed

T - Now listen to the recording, check and repeat the answers.

Ps do the exercise.

T - What activities do you usually do in the morning, in the afternoon and in the evening.

P 1- In the morning I get up, take a shower, have breakfast and then I go to school.

P 2- In the morning I brush my teeth.

P 3- In the afternoon I have lessons and do sports.

P 4- In the afternoon I do my homework.

P 5- In the evening I watch a DVD and go to bed.

IV Reading for specific information

Aim: to listen and to read for specific information

T- We usually milk cows, sheep and goats. Read the text "Snake milking". Find the information and answer the questions.

Questions on the board :

  1. Can we milk snakes?

  2. What does Bill do at work?

  3. Is his job dangerous?

T- Let's explain the meaning of some words from the text.

To milk - to get milk from animals

To bite - to hurt using teeth

Poisonous - very harmful if it gets into your body

Venom - the poison from an animal bite

Medicine - something that helps you when you are ill

Antivenin - medicine that protects against venomous bites

Snake Milking

We milk cows, we milk goats, but what about milking snakes? Well, Bill Hernandes does this every day! He works at a snake farm in Florida, USA. His daily routines is dangerous. The snakes often bite Bill on his hands and arms.

Every morning, Bill gets up early in the morning and walks to the farm. He catches different types of poisonous snakes from their enclosures and 'milks' them in his laboratory. The snake bite a special glass cup and the venom falls into it from their teeth. In the afternoons, Bill and his team make medicine or 'antivenin' from the venom. Bill knows his work is very important. "Each year poisonous snakes bite 8,000 people in the USA. They die without antivenin," he says.

In the evenings, Bill tries to forget all about snakes! He walks his puppy, Holly, and watches a DVD before he goes to bed.

V Grammar

Aim: to revise and practice the present simple affirmative, to pronounce the endings correctly

T - We use the present simple tense to talk about daily routines, habits and permanent states. We use a basic form of the verb for pronouns I, you, we, they and we add -s or -es for the 3rd person singular -he,she,it.

There are some spelling rules.

Look at the verbs on the board.

Kiss - kisses finish - finishes watch - watches

Mix - mixes go - goes try - tries

T- Read the table in you books and find the verbs with the 3rd person singular in the text "Snake milking"

Ps answers: does, works, gets up, walks, catches, milks, falls, knows, says, tries, watches, goes.

T - Put the verbs in brackets in the present simple and tell which of them express: a daily routine, a habit or a permanent state.

P1 - In the morning, Bill gets up early and then he walks to the snake farm. He catches poisonous snakes.

P2 - In the afternoon, Bill works in the laboratory. He and his team milk snakes and make medicine from their venom.

P3 - In the evening, Bill tries to forget about snakes. He walks his puppy. Then he watches DVD and goes to bed.

VII The summary

Aim: to summarize pupils' ability to communicate on the topic "Daily Routines",to use the present simple tense.

T - Let's sum up our work. You were active and hardworking today. I think that now you what is daily routines. I hope you'll be organized in your everyday activities. Your marks are…

Your hometask is to revise grammar rules about the present simple and to write a short story about your daily routines.
