Тема урока: Обычаи и традиции.

Цель урока: Формирование коммуникативных и социокультурных компетенций.

Задачи урока

Учебные:

- активизация в речи изученных лексических единиц и рече­вых образцов;

- развитие навыков аудирования и чтения;

- развитие умений в монологической речи с целью пересказа прослушанного и прочитанного текстов;

Развивающие:

- развитие внимания;

- развитие творческого мышления;

- развитие умения ориентироваться в тексте, осуществлять по­иск информации;

- развитие умения понять смысл и основную идею текста.

Ход урока

I. Вводная часть

1. Организационный момент. Приветствие, ознакомление учащихся с целями и задачами урока.

2. Речевая зарядка.

На доске прикреплены карточки с названиями самых популярных праздников Британии.

Учащиеся получают карточки с опорными фразами и пытаются догадать, какие это праздники.

Для проверки используется подготовленная учителем презентация 'The Customs and Traditions", в которой даны иллюстративные ответы на карточки.

Now I want to show you a very interesting presentation. In my opinion this presentation will be useful for you to get some further information about Maslenitsa. But I used another name of this holiday - Shrovetide.

После просмотра презентации ученики составляют рассказ о праздновании масленицы.

- I believe, Christmas with its Christmas tree and presents, perhaps, and Halloween are especially popular.

- When is Halloween celebrated?

- On the last night in October.

- How is it celebrated?

- The children cut holes in a pumpkin to imitate a nose, mouth and eyes and put a lighted candle inside.

- And what do they do with them then?

- Then the children put the pumpkin on the porch of their house. And after that they take a big empty bag and walk around every house and knock at the door.

- Then they ask a traditional question: "Trick or treat?"

- What does it mean?

- It means "Give me a treat - an apple, a sweet, some candies or I'll play a trick on you."

2. Текст презентации

In late February and early March, Russia celebrates Shrovetide, the most ancient festival of the Slavonic peo­ple. In the old days, Slavs believed that the change of seasons was the struggle between Yarilo, god of the sun, and the evil spirits of cold and darkness. People believed that they had to help Yarilo fight against winter and bring in the spring. So, for the whole week, ancient Russian villagers had fun and games. They went sledging. They usually went for troika rides. They often built castles out of ice and snow. They built a straw dummy of the Shrovetide Maid, then put it on a sledge and pulled it around the village. On the last day of the festival, they burnt it and chanted: "We are seeing off Shrovetide and waiting for the sun to come! Come to us, spring, with your joy and kindness!'

The most important part of Shrovetide week was making and eating pancakes The hot, round pancakes symbolized Yarilo. The Slavs believed that by eating pancakes, they got the power, light and warmth of the sun.
