Тема: English Homes

Цели:

Образовательная: а) научить учащихся осмысленно воспринимать информацию, дифференцировать ее на слух, б) совершенствовать навыки логической интерпретации изученного материала в) проконтролировать умения учащихся употреблять лексику по теме "The place we live in" в практической ситуации;

Развивающая: а) развитие поликультурной компетенции учащихся через знакомство с организацией быта и уклада жизни английских семей, б) развитие умения аргументировано выражать свою точку зрения, в) развитие умения логически мыслить, памяти и внимания;

Воспитательная: а) привитие интереса к изучению традиций другого народа и воспитание уважения к традициям другого народа; б) воспитывать в детях готовность помогать другим людям, в) быть ответственными и добросовестно относиться к исполнению порученного задания.

Оборудование: картинки с изображением комнат, картинки для повторения лексики по теме «Мебель», картинки с изображением различных Британских домов, пословицы


Ход урока

  1. Организационный момент.

Good afternoon, pupils. I'm glad to see you. Sit down, please. Firstly, answer some questions, please. Where do you live? Do you live in the house or in the flat? How many people live in your flat? How many rooms are there in your flat?

  1. Цели урока.

So, what's the topic of our lesson? Today we revise the words on the topic "The Place We Live In". And we are going to know some interesting facts about homes in Britain and learn the new words.

Now, think of proverbs about homes.

There is no place like home. East or West home is best.

  1. Повторение лексики по теме

T: Then before the girls come, let's revise the words on the topic "House" and have a phonetic exercise. Please, listen to the beginning of the rhymes and try to complete them with the proper word.

"A little grey mouse
lives in a …" (house)

"Let's probe
and buy a nice …" (wardrobe)

"Go and switch on
the light in the …"(kitchen)

"Mum bought a doily
and put it in the …" (toilet)

"Along the bridge

Match the pictures with their definitions and name these pictures. (Work in groups of 5)

c). Things which are usually on the windows and make the room lovely. (curtains)

d). a thing in the kitchen to cook our food. (a cooker)

g). A room where we can have dinner. (a dining room)

h). A thing where we can sit and read before the fire. (an armchair)

i). A place to sit by in the armchair and to get warm. (a fireplace)

j). A thing we can lock with a key. (a door)

k). A room where we can sleep. (a bedroom)

l). A thing where we can keep plates, cups and glasses. (a cupboard)

m). a room where we can read books and write something. (a study)

n). a thing where we can sleep. (a sofa)

o). a room where we watch TV. (a sitting room)



  1. Активизация изученной лексики в монологической и диалогической речи:

Today we speak about the house. Look at the blackboard. What is it? Is it a living room? What is there in the living room? (Ученики рассказывают о том, что находится в этой комнате).There is a fireplace, a table, a carpet in the living room. What are there in the living room? There are three pictures, two sofas and armchairs in the living room.

What is it? What is there in the bedroom? (Ученики поясняют, что находится в комнате). There is a bed, a picture in the bedroom. What are there in the bedroom? There are flowers in the bedroom.

What is there in the kitchen? (ученики рассказывают о том, что они видят на кухне). There is a lamp, a TV set, a table, a window in the kitchen. What are there in the kitchen? There are two chairs in the kitchen.

What is there in the hall? (ученики сообщают о том, что они видят в холле). There is a telephone, a bag in the hall. What are there in the hall? There are two doors in the hall.

What is there in the study? (Ученики рассказывают о том, что они видят в кабинете).

Great. Now will you repeat these words once more: living room, bedroom, kitchen, hall, and bathroom. (Ученики повторяют слова вслух за учителем).

Now look at the picture on the blackboard and say if it is true or false? If it is false - correct the statement. (Work in pairs)

  1. Bedrooms are usually on the ground floor in the traditional English houses.

  2. There are usually 3 floors in the traditional English house.

  3. The smallest room in the house is the sitting-room.

  4. There are no fires in the traditional English houses.

  5. The sitting-room is usually downstairs.

  6. Some English people live in flats.

And now I want you to tell us about the typical English house.

  1. Знакомство с различными видами Британских домов.

We have just spoken about the typical British home. And now it's time to learn other sorts of English houses. Some people live in flats but most British people live in houses. And houses are of different shapes and sizes. A bungalow, a cottage, a terraced-house, a semi-detached house, a detached house, an old house and a new house, a large house and a small house.

The 1st picture is a detached house. The 2nd, the 3rd and the 4th is a block of flats. The 5th is a semi-detached house. The 6th is a terraced house. The 7th is a cottage. And the 8th is a bungalow.

Repeat after me all the words.

Now, please, work in pairs and match the words with the definitions.

1). A house which is not attached to any other house. A detached house.

2). A house which is attached to another house on one side. A semi-detached house.

3). A house which is a part of a row of houses and is attached to them. A terraced-house.

4). A small house in the country. A cottage.

5). A home which is a part of a large building. A block of flats.

6). A small house on a single floor. A bungalow.
