Тема урока: The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

Цели:

образовательная - обобщить изученный страноведческий материал по теме;

развивающая - развивать навыки устной речи; интерес учащихся к изучению английского языка;

воспитательная - прививать интерес к культуре страны изучаемого языка.

Оборудование:

• конспект, подготовленный для урока;

• компьютер;

• мультимедиа проектор;

• доска;

• иллюстрации достопримечательностей Лондона;

• раздаточный материал (лист-викторина).

Ход урока

1. Организационный момент

Good morning, boys and girls. I hope you are fine.

Good morning, dear colleagues. I am glad to see you at the lesson today. I am sure you'll like it.

2. Постановка целей урока

You know a lot about Great Britain and its people, but some things are easily forgotten.

What is the official name of Great Britain?

(Студенты отвечают - the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland)

Today we'll remember the geographical position of the UK, the political system, the capital of the country and its places of interest.

Now, look at the map of the UK and answer the questions.

• What parts does the UK consist of?

Look at the flags of these countries. Match them with each other. (слайд№5 презентации)

Number 1 - England

Number 2 - Wales

Number 3 - Scotland

Number 4 - Northern Ireland

Look at the national coats of arms and say what countries they belong to and what their capitals are.

To sum up the previous discussion tell us some words about the geographical position of the UK, the national flags, flowers, capitals. (рассказ студента, или студентов)

The British Parliament is in London. And you know London is famous for lots of places of interest. Listen to the stories about them and guess what they are.
