St.1 I'd like to tell you some facts about English. 80% of all information in the world's computers is in English.

20% of the world's population speaks English.

75 % of all international business letters are written in English.

50 % of companies communicate with each other in English.

St.2 To sum up these facts we can say that English has become the key to international scientific, technological and commercial innovations of today. Do you agree with me?

St. 3 Yes, with the acceptance of English as the international language of technology and commerce appears new generation of people who know why they are learning the language.

When do children start learning foreign language in Russia?

St. 4. Much depends on the parents. Some children start to learn foreign languages very early in kindergartens for example. They are taught ABC English there. At some specialized schools foreign languages are taught from the second to the eleventh class.

Does everyone need to learn English?

St. 5. I think everyone need basic English. When you are abroad as a tourist, knowing English helps in all situations.

St.5 English is the official language of some thirty states which represent different cultures. Many countries, which have more than one official language.

Why are foreign languages important for specialists ?

St.6 For Russian specialists it is good to know not only English, but German and French as well. English is number one language that specialists should learn.

Leader 2. Is English an easy language to learn?

St. 7 Yes, it is. Basically English is an easier language to learn than almost any other language. Its grammar is not difficult at all.
