We are future specialists in the field of tourism. We were very happy Father Christmas to come to see us. He asked us to tell you about his motherland.

Our presentation consists of three parts. The first part is called «Velikiy Ustyug is Father Christmas' motherland", the second part is "The story of Father Christmas" and the third part is «Great historical monuments". (slide)

We discovered that his motherland is the town of Velikiy Ustyug, one of the oldest cities. (slide) There is a beautiful palace of Father Christmas in this town. It's a wonderful fabulous residence where Father Christmas receives his guests. (slide) There is his post office in this house where there are many letters for Father Frost from not only children, but adults from all over the world. You can write to him if you like. (slide) There is a big room with a throne and New Year fir tree in the palace. It is called a throne room. There is a star at the top of the fir tree. It symbolizes luck and happiness. The thrones near the fir tree belong to Father Christmas and Snow Maiden. (slide)

We found out that Father Christmas' parents were Hard Frost and his wife Winter. (slide) He was born on the 18th, November.

But we were very surprised that Father Christmas appeared only in 1910 at New Year celebration parties for children. (slide) Father Frost officially appeared and began to play and dance with children around the fir tree in 1937 in the Kremlin.

You've just seen the building of Father Christmas' palace. We'd like to draw your attention to the fact that the building is all wooden. Wood is the material which was widely used in Russia for construction. There are several unique architectural masterpieces built without a single nail such as Kizhi. (slide) Students in our college can obtain the profession of carpenter and builder.
