Урок английского языка в 6 классе.

Тема: Домашние животные в Британии.

Цель: совершенствование навыков чтения;

совершенствование лексических навыков по теме

I . Начало урока.

-Good morning, boys and girls! I'm very glad to see you. Let's greet each other!

It's time to say "Hello!" (Hello!)

It's time to say "Hello!" (Hello!)

It's time to say "Hello!" (Hello!)

And start our lesson.

Do you like today's weather? Let's speak a little about today's weather. Look at your shoulder partner and then at your face partner and tell a few words about today's weather.

II. Фонзарядка.

Pussy cat, pussy cat,
where have you been?
I've been to London
to look at the queen.
Pussy cat, pussy cat,
what did you there ?
I frightened a little mouse
under a chair.

Ученики слушают учителя, повторяют отдельные слова, фразы, читают самостоятельно, в парах.

III. Обучение чтению.

  1. Pre- reading.

  1. The teacher asks the students:

  1. The teacher asks each student questions about his or her own pet.

Have you got a pet?

What kind of pet?

What is its name?

  1. The teacher gives information about pet's names in Britain and organizes pronunciation practice (chorus work).

For dogs: Misty, Rover, Rex, Cindy etc.

For cats: Snowy, Albert, Fluffy, Tom etc.

  1. The teacher says: Today you will learn more facts about pets in Britain.

  1. While- reading.

First reading for gist.

Lots of families in Great Britain have got one or more pets. Dogs are the favourite pets and there are about 6 million of them in Britain. The second favourite are cats (about 5 million) and the third favourite is a bird- budgie. Some families do not keep cats or dogs. They keep other animals as pet in their homes. There are more then 12 million pets in Britain. The English take good care of their pets. They give them nice names: Rover. Rex. Misty, Cindy (for dogs); Albert, Snowy, Fluffy, Tom (for cats); Poly, Chatterbox (for parrots); guy, scamper, Shipley (for monkeys). When they speak of their pets, they say, "He", "She", (not it).

  1. The teacher gives out handouts with the list of different pets and says:

Read the story about Britain and tick the names of the pets you read about.

  2. Cat 6. Guinea-pig

  3. Dog 7. hamster

  4. Monkey 8. Parrot

The teacher organizes pair work and check the results.

Second reading.

  1. The teacher: Read the same text again and find out: : the most favourite pet in Britain, the second favourite and the third favourite pet in Britain.

  1. The teacher: Now exchange your results. (Pair work.)

Post reading.

  1. The teacher invites the learners to discuss the question What pet are popular in Russia?

  2. The teacher: Think of the most favourite pet in Britain, the second favourite and the third favourite pet in Russia. Fill in the chat.
