I would like to tell you about my great-grandfather Naumenko Vladimir Mikhailovich. He was born in the city of Samara in 1926 in a large family and was the fourth child out of 6. Nowadays, his sister is still alive. My great-grandfather went to war when he was very young, only sixteen. In 1942, he was taken to the front. My great-grandfather was an infantryman. He fought at Kursk. How many roads he had to pass by forests, fields, marshes, off-roads; to cross rivers! He participated in the battles, slept for 3 hours a day, endured the difficulties of the battles. My great-grandfather, I think, is a hero, because he was wounded twice. He has several awards: Order «Of Bravery» and the Order of «Military Merit», which the whole family is proud of. Fortunately, he came back alive from the war. He married and brought up two daughters. He was often sick because of the wounds he got during the war, he was often disturbed. At the age of 40, he died and was buried in his hometown of Samara.
