CLASS: Grade 11 | Number present: 15 | absent:-
Learning objectives(s) that this lesson is contributing to | 1) To identify areas of the heart. 2) To describe the stages of the cardiac cycle. 3) To explain how differences in blood pressure contribute towards the events that occur during the systolic and diastolic phases of the cardiac cycle.
| |||
Lesson objectives | Upon completion of this lesson, the student will be able to: После завершения этого урока, студент сможет: 1) State key structures of the heart 2) List the main phases of the cardiac cycle. 3) Understand that blood flows from regions of high to low pressure; explain how the stages of the cardiac cycle adhere to this rule.

(5 mins) AA, FD | Main Introductory presentation on: the function of the heart, the structure of the heart and myogenic tissue. Activity 1 Introduction of activity on the cardiac cycle. Students are given a blank table corresponding to the 3 stages of the cardiac cycle. Students are provided with diagrams of each stage of the cardiac cycle and explanations of each stage. Students are to complete the cardiac cycle grid by: drawing a labelled diagram of the heart for each particular stage of the heart cycle, summarising key information on the events that take place for each stage of the cardiac cycle. Final Plenary Feedback is taken on the stages of the cardiac cycle. Changes in pressure are discussed. Students are to explain how changes in pressure influence the flow of blood within the heart.

Differentiation - how do you plan to give more support? How do you plan to challenge the more able learners? | Assessment - how are you planning to check students' learning? | Cross-curricular links
All learners will: be able to identify areas of the heart. Most learners will: be able to describe the stages of the cardiac cycle.
Some learners will: be able to explain how differences in blood pressure contribute towards the events that occur during the systolic and diastolic phases of the cardiac cycle.
| Random questioning, whole class feedback. Circulating the classroom and questioning students in the class. Check students' worksheets. Peer assessment. Random questioning, whole class feedback. Student led teaching.

Reflection Use the space below to reflect on your lesson. Answer the most relevant questions about your lesson. Were the lesson objectives/learning objectives realistic? What did the learners learn today? What was the learning atmosphere like? Did my planned differentiation work well? Did I stick to timings? What changes did I make from my plan and why?
What two things went really well (consider both teaching and learning)? 1: 2: What two things would have improved the lesson (consider both teaching and learning)? 1: 2: What have I learned from this lesson about the class or individuals that will inform my next lesson?
